Summary

This role will perform tasks including basic functions supporting the construction of underground buried fiber systems. The Field Technician position may require heavy lifting and the operation of power tools, preparing sites, digging trenches, cleaning up rubble and debris.

Core Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Install and troubleshoot/repair customer fiber equipment for high-speed internet service such as ONUs, and routers.
  • Perform assigned duties in compliance with company policies, specifications and those applicable to the requirements of OSHA, FCC, NEC, and other local ordinances.
  • Knowledge of appropriate testing equipment (e.g., signal level meters, fusion splicer, PON meter, toners, ohm meters, CLI detection meters, etc.)
  • Maintain daily records, logs, receipts, and other necessary documents.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call (stand-by) duties for providing technical support in repairing data connectivity problems and internet during non-business hours.
  • Maintain a professional and appropriate image with the community through appearance and demeanor.
  • Always drive in a professional manner.
  • Assists in pre-wiring and pre-installation activities.
  • Dig trenches and remove soil prior to fiber installation.
  • Blow fiber to vaults and customer premises.
  • Verify conduit locations, depth, and integrity.

Summary:
A Fiber Fast Homes Splicing Technician specializes in terminating fiber optic cables to expand telecommunication networks as well as replace existing lines. This individual will also troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal issues.

 Core Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to travel.
  • Previous splicing experience required.
  • Experience in fusion splicing, splice enclosures, Multi Service Terminals (MSTs), ring cuts, and butt splicing.
  • Ability to perform and read OTDR traces, power meter and PON testing.
  • Splice fiber distribution hubs.
  • Must have ability to read a fiber splice plan and splice accordingly.
  • OSP experience is preferred.
  • Must have ability to troubleshoot broken fibers and locate DB loss on light levels.
  • Experience with fiber to the home is a plus.
  • Experience diagnosing fiber issues, and performing routine testing including measuring, and repairing fiber using Fusion Splicer and OTDR.
  • Knowledge of various types of splicing, cable and safety test equipment and use of different types of cable construction equipment.
  • Locate and repair cable faults to maintain existing cable network without causing signal failure interruptions.
  • Must understand construction prints and splice schematics.
  • Prep/splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables.
  • Safely access manholes and handholes to complete assigned underground tasks.

Summary:  

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fiber to the home construction within their designated territory. This individual must feel comfortable supervising a team consisting of both exempt and non-exempt employees.  The Construction Supervisor will offer on-the-job guidance and support to employees.  They will be responsible for managing financial resources and providing relevant information to finance, design, construction, procurement, emergency restoration, utility relations, and project management. This role will perform tasks that may involve physical labor and basic functions supporting the construction of underground buried fiber systems. Some travel required.

This role is remote and based in Florida, a strong internet connection is required.   • Create and nurture relationships with both potential and existing clients
  • Meet with clients both in person and over the phone
  • Attend industry events to identify potential sales leads
  • Research industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales
  • Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic
  • Generate and submit sales reports to management
  • Locate brownfield FttH (Fiber-to-the-Home) potential projects in the Jacksonville and Orlando markets

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of outside sales or business development experience
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting sales objectives
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Impeccable interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of the industry and industry trends
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and consumer psychology
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability and willingness to travel for trade shows, demonstrations, and client meeting
  • Previous experience with home builders is a plus
  • Previous experience with Fiber-to-the-Home (FttH) is a plus
  • Strong internet connection
  • Based in Florida
