Summary:
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fiber to the home construction within their designated territory. This individual must feel comfortable supervising a team consisting of both exempt and non-exempt employees. The Construction Supervisor will offer on-the-job guidance and support to employees. They will be responsible for managing financial resources and providing relevant information to finance, design, construction, procurement, emergency restoration, utility relations, and project management. This role will perform tasks that may involve physical labor and basic functions supporting the construction of underground buried fiber systems. Some travel required.
Core Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Supervise fiber to the premise construction projects from start to finish.
- Obtain bids, hire, supervise, and manage employees and contractors.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects etc., to implement the specifications of the project.
- Plan and report project progress.
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities as needed.
- Receive equipment, material and monitor stocks, to timely handle inadequacies.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards.
- Install, troubleshoot and repair customer fiber equipment for high-speed internet service such as ONUs, and routers.
- Perform assigned duties in compliance with company policies, specifications and those applicable to the requirements of OSHA, FCC, NEC, and other local ordinances.
- Knowledge of appropriate testing equipment (e.g., signal level meters, fusion splicer, PON meter, toners, ohm meters, CLI detection meters, etc.)
- Maintain daily records, logs, receipts, and other necessary documents.
- Participate in on-call (stand-by) duties for providing technical support in repairing data connectivity problems and internet during non-business hours.
- Maintain a professional and appropriate image with the community through appearance and demeanor.

- Assist with OSP and ISP installation activities.
- Blow fiber to vaults and customer premises.
- Obtain equipment and supplies needed for a job and keep vehicle stocked.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience or combination of both.
- Generally, requires 3-5 years’ experience in communications (telecommunications, cable, outside plant infrastructure.)
- A combination of technical operations and construction experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, and operation system experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
- FTTH experience preferred.

SUMMARY
The OSP Engineer at Fiber Fast Homes is responsible for planning and designing our fiber infrastructures. This individual will work with the OSP Engineer Manager to design systems and determine project specifications. They will coordinate with project management and inspect projects periodically to ensure adherence to approved designs. The OSP Engineer will prepare and maintain documentation on specs, fiber maps and engineering documents. They will also assist in resolving customer service complaints indirectly when it comes to outages and other abnormalities with the network.
Core Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Engineer upcoming projects for FTTH (fiber to the home).
- Draft projects on a suitable platform (AutoCAD or similar)
- Input data into drafting and record keeping platforms.
- Coordinate with the OSP Engineer Manager to gather necessary information needed to engineer and design projects to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Create all necessary documentation (i.e., bill of materials, project construction cost, material cost) to construct projects based on engineered drawings.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree, equivalent work experience or combination of both.
- Engineering experience.
- Relevant technical work experience
- Generally, requires 2-4 years’ related experience in a fast-paced environment.
Other Qualifications:
- Experience in FTTH design, centralized design preferred.
- Familiarity with tools such as OSPInsight, BlueBeam Revu, QGIS, Geo Spatial, and similar programs are a plus.
- Visual design skills are strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of easement, right-of-way, and permit documents is preferred.
- 3-9 years’ experience producing fiber designs preferred.
